For Photography Clients

What is your photography story?

Photography was something I sort of fell into while studying at university and working as a graphic designer. I did, and still do, all of the photography for my graphic design work that required imagery. I've picked up the camera and haven't been able to put it down since.

Are you available for a photo session?

I hope so! Please send me a message through the contact form on the About page to discuss your photo sessions and available dates.

How do I book you for a photo session?

For everything but weddings, a signed contract and a nonrefundable 50% deposit is required to officially book your requested date. For weddings, a signed contract and a nonrefundable $500 deposit is required to officially book your wedding day.

I can't meet in person. Can I sign the contract online?

Of course! Contracts are available to be signed electronically. I send all my contracts out to your email through HelloSign.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, cashier's check, money order, or PayPal (preferred).

Are you available for destination weddings?

Yes! Contact me for more details.

How and when will I receive my images?

Images will be made available through a secure online gallery. For most photo sessions, final edited images will be done 3-4 weeks from their session date. For weddings, final edited images will be done 6-8 weeks from their wedding day.

Can we order prints from you?

Yes and no. I don't do any big bulk printing but single framed prints and custom albums can be done through me.

Can you design a photo album book?

Yes! Perks of having a graphic designer and photographer in one!

What do I wear at a photo session?

Wear whatever you feel most comfortable in! I do suggest that you avoid wearing solid white as it can distort the light in the photos as well as finely ornate patterns as that too can distort the image. If your session is a couples or group session, you're more than welcome to coordinate outfits but I recommend not being too matchy-matchy. Please take a look at my Pinterest page for outfit ideas.

Are hair, makeup, and outfit styling provided?

At this time, I do not provide hair, makeup, or outfit styling services but I am happy to refer you to local stylists in the area that can help you prepare for your photo shoot. For this reason, please arrive for your photo session with your hair, makeup, and outfits done.

What kind of camera gear do you use?

I use professional level gear - Canon to be specific. My main camera body is a Canon 5D Mark iii, my backup camera is a Canon 6D, and lenses include: Canon 85mm f/1.2, Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART, 24-70mm f/2.8, and a 70-200mm f/2.8. When I need extra light, I use the Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT flash but I always aim for natural light in my photography. My photo editing software of choice is Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. And, of course, I have other gadgets and accessories like tripods, reflectors, etc. Please remember, it isn’t the camera that takes the photos, it’s the photographer :)

Do you have a second shooter?

If you have a large event, I highly recommend getting a second shooter. Price of a second shooter is $300-$500 and can be added to any package.

Do you work off of a photo shot list?

Yes and no. Through experience, I know what types of photos are necessary for particular photo sessions. But if you have specific shots in mind, please feel free to give me a list.

Why is photography so expensive?

Photography, like many art forms, is a long creative process. Clients mostly see photographers taking photos but it is so much more than that. Photographers have to take time to meet with clients, prep for photo sessions, spend time taking the photos, and last, and probably the most time consuming, is editing in post production.

I'm on a budget. Do you offer any discounts?

I understand that my packages don’t fit everyone’s budget. If you have a set budget, I can customize a package to fit that budget. Currently, discounts are offered to those in the military or currently employed by a charitable nonprofit organization.

Do you charge for travel fees or accommodations?

Locations within a 50-mile radius of San Francisco are free. Any locations outside of that is subject to mileage, gas, and other travel and accommodations fees to be discussed at your consultation.

A company wants to buy one of the photos from my photo shoot with you! Can I sell it?

Images are for personal use only and may not be sold for profit under any circumstance. Please refer to the signed contract for more details.

What's your cancellation policy?

For whatever reason, if you would like to reschedule or cancel your photo session, please contact me via email at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled session day and time. For weddings, please contact me via email at least 8 weeks before your scheduled wedding date with me.

Please keep in mind that your deposit is nonrefundable. If you reschedule or cancel after the allotted window period, you forfeit your deposit and any new date booked is considered a new session. Please understand that when you book a session, you are holding a time that can go to another paying client.

Do you have insurance?

Yes and every professional should have it. If you need to provide proof of insurance for a venue, please contact me.

Hmmm...I still have a question that wasn't covered here...

No problem! Please contact me via email if you have any additional questions.

Proofs & Final Images

Where can I view my proofs?

An email with a link will be sent to you 7-10 business days after your photo session or 14-21 business days after your wedding. Please note that proofs have not been edited at that stage. Editing comes after you select your photos.

Where can I download my final edited images?

After you've selected your proofs and they have been edited, they will be made available online in a secure gallery for download. They will be stored in that gallery for 3 months, after which they will be taken down.

Are print releases included in my package?

Print releases are included in every package. Please note that commercial and copyright belongs to the photographer.
